it is a classical case of 'zooming', i.e., changing the lens' focus when making a shot, which also assumes a realtively long exposure (0.5 sec in this case).

магнезией смазывают (или посыпают?) руки, когда лазят; примерно как штангисты, только у скалолазов магнезия (её иногда ещё зовут "мел", chalk) висит в специальном мешочке за спиной.
руки во время тренировок всё время как у мельника; а камера плачет и страдает, разумеется.
