а есть такие места, где обсуждается вероятность, с которой сша будут вынуждены полностью выплатить все эти так называемые "репарции и контрибуции", за своё вторжение в ирак? где-то обсуждаются сценарии, как это может полностью потопить американскую (да и не только) экономику?

If Bush stays around for the second term, we will have much bigger issues to worry about.

If Kerry comes to power, the world community will come together and take care of this issue. After all, Iraq has plenty of oil, and now that Saddam is gone, they can sell it and rebuild themselves with some help from the USA. It's not fair, but it's the best available solution.

меня интересует обсуждение сценариев, когда не "богатый нефтью ирак" сможет восстановить экомику, с помощью или без...

а когда (и если) будет признано, например, что вторжение сша (+союзников) в ирак было незаконным, и за такие проделки надо полностью восстановить ирак и компенсировать разнообразные ущербы. не за счёт нефти ирака, а за счёт денег американских налогоплатильщиков. как, например, заставили ирак платить за вторжение в кувейт.

меня интересует, кто, где и когда (и если) обсуждает подобные сценарии и вероятность их реализации "взаправду".

я хотел бы при этом как-то отстраниться от обсуждения, "хороши" ли подобные сценарии или "плохи".

I am sorry, this was my personal opinion. I think talkingpointsmemo talked about the issue of Iraq restoration shortly before the war in Iraq started.

This is a purely logical construct, of course... but here is my reasoning. In the last 3 years, USA has stepped away from the UN both in policy and in rhetoric. Part of Kerry's message is that he will normalize the relations between UN and the US again. That will probably involve going to the UN and giving a sufficiently conciliatory speech to get UN troops into Iraq.

Once that is taken care of, I think the world community would be willing to work with the US to restore Iraq, and that restoration will be at least partically financed by the Iraq's oil money because it's politically impossible to finance it entirely out of the US taxpayers' pockets.
