[PER] Five Acres of Independence

guess i wouldn't want to eat there - they probably pick their boogers and stick it in the food at a place like that. :/

:))

ps: you may not get from the text, but the picture leads to a cd of two very interesting folks (and some of their pictures are not so bad :)

ah... after listening to their music samples, i think you might be interested in the music of a band called "tied & tickled trio". one of the members is a an old friend (and ex employee) of my husband's.

does this link to to an article in a language you know? :P http://www.cucamonga.be/interviews/TiedTickledTrio0903.htm

unfortunately, i couldn't find a site with their own music samples, and, surprisingly to me, i can't find a site of their own, with their artwork, since our friend is an artist, and designs some great stuff for their albums.

That's gross Val :P

[identity profile] mznokia.livejournal.com 2003-10-10 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Really, I don't understand why you said that :/

[identity profile] zasu.livejournal.com 2003-10-10 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
because the message beneath the sign is hostile, and unwelcoming to anyone that isn't a rabid american patriot.

and that means rude to an awful lot of the world.

I do like this photo... I don't seem to be following what you're talking about very well though, did you take it or was it a link from someone else (I thought you mentioned another site, but no link :/)

[identity profile] centralasian.livejournal.com 2003-10-10 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
this a site (and the pictures) of my friends, who are multimedia designers... the site is a presentation of their new "album" - the link actually goes to one of samples, but you could listen to all 30+ on the site. each sample has a story and a picture.

i was joking a bit about the influence of the aman_geld's pictures (well, yes, these guys looked through the whole a_g journal, but of course they are original enough to make thier own good pictures :)

they also advised me to start making a small subsections in aman_geld, to ease the navigation. otherwise it's getting too huge and messy...

so far, it looks like that, and then i could make a meta-menu for the entire journal.

when sorting our the old pictures, i was loughing a lot... they are soooo bad :((

That's cool how you did that! You did that through LJ calendar?

I can't imagine that they're sooooo bad :P When you get the older ones done let me know so I can look :)

Can I just ask you.... do you find this sign offensive?

[identity profile] centralasian.livejournal.com 2003-10-10 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
i find it arrogant. for some strange reason i don't perceive it as offensive, but many people might... and especially now tons of people would say 'oh, yeh, that soo symbolic of america!'

addition: it is arrogant if it is "totally serious"; i can imagine situations when it is just ironic and funny; even in its current form, with an addition of just a bit of "extra grain" it could become just a total joke

[identity profile] mznokia.livejournal.com 2003-10-10 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously, I took it with a grain of salt and did not think that it should be offensive...of course I'm not from another country, guess that's why I asked you....reminded me of a simple bumper sticker or something in which some say far worse things than that.

If it is meant to be serious.... I personally don't argue with the point, if you don't like America then why would you want to be here anyway :/ If I saw a similiar sign in Russia or Britain or anywhere I wouldn't be offended... why would I want to be there if I didn't like it....Why would they want me there if I didn't like their country.

I'm not good at poitical arguements but my first response was not negative :/
