каждый пятый работающий канадец собирается работать "до гробовой доски"... в основном потому, что не надеется, что пенсии хватит на сколько-нибудь достойное существование. грустно. после самой статьи очень живое обсуждение, обычно столько комментов набирает только что-то "про секс".

it was, actually :) the beginning is more or less clear (or not?)

"up to a grave" (in the original text it was "the coffin's cover") - it's a typical russian expression meaning "till the end of someone’s days".

"so much kommentov" - "komment" it is literally a transfer of the english "comment". it is not grammatically correct in russian to say it in this way (we have a word "kommentariy"). but it's just too long, and in the lj many russians start using "komments" and "posty" (="postings", entries to the journal)

now, "sex" :)

i write that there are a lot of comments after the article, which usually happens only if the article is about "sexual affairs" or related issues. so, i'm surprised that the article has evoked the same interest.

again, my words are very short and abrupt, it's almost like spoken language where you don't pay attention to the "proper grammar"... so, the translator can be confused :)
