[DIVE] On digital memory gardens

"You could call it nostalgia, but I decided to save these snapshots of my first life.

"Sometimes I return to this digital garden, and wonder who all these faces belong to?

"Becasue you see? I've been here in my digital life so long that I've forgotten."

 

In January 2007, a man named Molotov Alva, disappeared from his Californian home. Recently, a series of video dispatches by a Traveler of the same name have appeared within a popular online world called Second Life. In these dispatches Molotov Alva encounters everything from Furries to Cyberpunks to Neo-Luddites to Sex Slaves to the King of the Hobos, Orhalla Zander, who becomes Molotovs guide as he searches for the creator of their brave new world.

Милый фильм (ку-ку, ipain!), который ещё наделает "много шума"; немного почитать и посмотреть кусочек можно "пройдя по ссылке", а узнать о контексте можно вот тут. Может, его можно будет потом скачать, пока не знаю, где.

Очень понравилась фенечка с "садом памяти". Во-первых, это хороший рефрейминг того, что тут происходит ("тут" означает и мой журнал, и кучу других журналов "с картинками", и вообще всю эту вакханалию цифровой фотографии). И ведь действительно, снимаем так, как будто завтра уже отплывать в цифровую Америку, на навсегда, и надо "сохранить крупицы этого мира" для "мира того".

А ещё, как ни забавно, я как раз сейчас перестраиваю свою память как сад; или лес, или поле, вообщем, что-то пространственное и органическое (carbon-based, хе-хее).

PS: Никто, случайно, не узнаёт музыку, играющую фоном к эпизоду Memory garden? У меня крутится что-то, "в ухе", но никак не довспомнится.

Я знаю, сэмпл и всё такое; но и всё же - фигасе уровень нетрэбы!
