(btw, what is your camera? I now thinking about upgrading my own, and collect various options)
re the size - you are right, they are all looking much better when properly scaled. But after a few trials and errors I found this size, ~500 pix in length as the most appropriate for my journal.
i write (and read by) many people in russia, and many of them still do not have a decent connection... large images would be too heavy for them :(
and i don't quite like lj-cuts, thumbnails etc... just extra hassle, imho... so i hope that my visitors will be able to see the point even in these relatively small images : )
when i'll be exhibiting large pics in the gallery, i'll send you a special invitation :)
