так вот креатиффно называется большая секция в последнем, ноябрьском, номере журнала IdN, про "Креативную Страну - Россию" (Creative Country - Russia), с рассказами о всяких разных хороших и очень хороших дизайнерах из этой страны. текст написан некто Eva Rukhina (та ли это Эва Рухина, которая пишет для TimeOut про всякие рестораны и магазины? наверное, у неё тоже есть жж, так что я ничего не буду писать про качество текста, сами почитаете.)

а в остальном секция оформлена роскошно, и от этого, как водится, плохо читабельна (шрифт или мелкий, или если крупный, то неразборчивый - see above). но зато смотрится и щупается всё очень хорошо (вставка напечатана на другой, чем весь журнал, бумаге, шершавой и почти пористой, но в то же время поблёскивающей на свету и говокружительно вкусно пахнущей - интернет ещё долго не будет позволять всё это передать "один лёгким движением мышки"). на сайте есть пара разворотов из этой секции, можно посмотреть, как всё это выглядит "целиком".

набор дизайнеров мне показался произвольным, там нет людей, кторых многим считают "звёздами русского графдизайна", и есть, наоборот, такие, про которых я из этой статьи и узнал. но есть и исключения - то есть, и звезда, и в журнал попала, и даже я не впервые слышу имя - Yana Moskaluk.

мне кажется, у неё тоже есть журнал в жж, если кто-то знает, подскажите, пожалуйста (тут вот urbansheep подвтерждает мои подозрения, что это ya_ya).

Yana Moskaluk is a shy Russian rebel. "I arrive in Moscow when I was just 19 years old", she says. "I had run away from my native town, Omsk, because it was so boring. The people there are all the same – and they’re scared by new opportunities. Moscow is absolutely different. People at the studio are very open-minded. I can say, 'Let’s go to Japan', and we’re off next week. Or I can say, 'Let’s go and see Dir En Grey concert in Germany', and the next day we’re on our way. I can sleep on street benches under paper bags and miss my train connections and flights. But it doesn’t matter: there is an energy here, a rush that brings happiness."

Moskaluk has been heavily influenced by contemporary Japanese culture. She explains: "When I illustrated an encyclopedia of Japanese rock, I created pictures of 40 music groups. This book has been published in the US and I’m very proud of it. I love to draw guitarists and I’m a big fan of Dir En Grey. I offered my pictures to Dir En Grey’s manager during his concert, but he wasn’t interested. I really want to make a CD cover for them, but they probably have enough designers in Japan.

"I love Japanese artists. My idol is Noki Kusomoto. I have bought a lot of his book. Some people say I draw in a Japanese style. This is not true. Although my entire bookcase is stuffed with Japanese comics, manga, anime, etc., I think my own style is different. Manga is not popular in Moscow. Yu have to search out manga books in special places or on the Internet. But in Berlin, manga is huge – it is sold everywhere and many of the comics are translated.

Moskaluk admits she has a predilection for drawing girls – she finds them easier. "All of them are similar to me," she says, "with black hair, black eyes, black dresses. But I need to so a lot of commercial images of girls for glossy magazines and books. One day I would like to draw my own book and publish it. The theme is already clear in my mind – people in animal shapes. Yesterday we opened an exhibition at the FAQ Café. I did some pictures of the guys at our studio and Egor Jgun (zhgun)did pictures of the girls. And after the opening, they auctioned our works. It was awful! I just hid in a corner. I’m a very shy person and never talk to strangers or even write to them. Artemy Lebedev had to write to me and invite me to work in his studio – I would never have dared to write first. I’m still the youngest illustrator in the studio – I’m only 21 years old.

Has she ever done anything other than illustrate? "Recently we painted the walls in the studio, together with Yana Klink (yanaklink). The theme was Alice in Wonderland. And I created the Mad Hatter – as a guitarist in a hat (очень бы хотелось посмотреть картинки. никто не поможет?). And near the staircases, I painted a guitar, with black roses and thorns. My usual stuff."
