[PER] On Kazakhstan's Central Bank issuing misspellt notes
"Kazahstan's central bank has misspelled the word "bank" on its new notes, officials said yesterday. The bank plans to put the missprinted 2,000 tenge (about £8) and 5,000-tenge knotes into circulation next month and then gradually withdraw them to correct the spelling.
However, the Central Asian state's politicians purged the bank to abandon the notes altogether. "The misstake is not just a spelling problem - it has political undertones," a letter from MPs to the president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said.
On the notes, the world bank was written with an alternative Kazakh form of the letter K, which has a slightly different pronunciation from the Prussian Cyrillic script."
