Orange Brand Futures group, the major UK cell phone service providers, developed the computer game 'Relax to Win' with Media Lab Europe. The game is based on the concept that the more you relax, the more you will achieve in the game.



To realize the game concept, Philips Design designed a special device, Relax to Win Sensor, to measure the player's galvanic skin response and sends the data to a PC or cell phone. To play the game, you need to simply slide the device between any two fingers and relax. You see yourself on screen as a friendly dragon; the more you relax the more your dragon will float and eventually fly.

When designing the concept, Philips Design applied its proprietary smart textile technologies ; the mesh-like textile material contains sensors measuring stress/arousal level, but is soft to the touch.

For the Relax to Win Sensor Philips received a Design Distinction in the I.D. Magazine's Annual Design Review in its Concept category.

 

теперь немножко про собственно отгадывание :

все ответы распались на три больших кластера: телесно-эргономический, общегеометрический и технический.

технический кластер самый пальцем в небо (хотя он и дал wireless). общегеометрический сбили с панталыку dixi, который "подсказал" неверные параметры игрушки (увлёкшись своим брайнизвестночем ™) и расцветка барби. dixi потом указал и правльный ответ, но это он знал.

самым плодотворным оказался кластер эргономических идей: подушка для зажимания ног - это очень-очень тепло. про все эти сенсорные игры догадаться почти невозможно, особенно без какого-то диалога, но прикидка на тело даёт самые хорошие результаты, как ни странно.

ещё удивили, что бренд оранжевых так узнаваем (я пытался стереть само слов orange, но этого было мало); я читал где-то, что orange постоянно судится за право только им использовать этот цвет в технологичных брендах. про политику мы тут не будем.

приз зрительских симпатий получает 3d_object, за активную игру

ага. вообще странно, что электронные компании не напихали всяких биосенсоров в каждый свой прибор. людям обычно ужасно нравятся все эти биофидбачные игрушки.

днём было некогда писать, а глазом я скользнула по ней, и, конечно, была сенсорная версия: гипноглиф, пуговица-для-поглаживания, у меня есть такой деревянный, это шар с прорезанными и отполированными канавками, пальцы его любят - у-у! правда можно до самотранса допоглаживаться (гипноглиф - название из фант.рассказа, там такой использовался для самовведения в транс, это была охотничья ловушка на того, кому он давался в руки)

а я обратил внимание что внутри у него решетчатая стотовая структура, а покрытие полупрозрачное. Но не успел это подумать. До связки металл-проводник я не додумался.
а потом в rss-фидах вечером увидел.

There's a computer game out where you wear some sort of monitor and the screen fills with balls unless you lower your heart rate. Same type of idea. I'd really like to get one.

Did you ever see that short-lived game show where the contestants had to keep their heart rate down? It was an interesting concept, but a horrible show.
