i didn't need too big a DOF, so i would be happy with large aperture (2.8), and a decent shutter speed, say 1/50. but since the room was dark, to get there i had to increase the ISO, up to 400. vuala ^_^

Thanks!! I should take the cam off automatic mode more often and try these things out. XD
