thank for your kind explanations - i think i understand the issue very well, working in the design industry myself (although not as a photographer, this is just a hobby). so, next time i will surely ask your permission first!
many friends of mine in lj were absolutely excited with your works, and very rightly! and that's the whole purpose of such repostings for me - to let more people to see the beauty!
i also tend to treat livejournal as a relatively *light* medium where speed matters more than formality, e.g., i often re-post someone's work (always with credits and links) and only later ask about 'formal' permission. may be not good from *business* point of view, but i somehow sense that spreading the message brings more benefits to the authors. i understand, however, that there might be more complicated cases.
just to let you know, when i first posted your picture in my journal, i also wrote (in russian) that i deeply regret about not knowing your journal before. which, as i wrote to your already, was a good hint for many people to visit your journal and subscribe to it.
now, using this chance, i would formal ask your permission to copy this work - eureka dunes - to my journal, with the link to the original place and all the proper credits. i would greatly appreciate!
also, you write that many of your postings are friend-only; i would be also glad to join the list of your lj-friends, to be able to see them (and can i also ask about the same privilege for aman_geld? who is in fact my own journal, but fully devoted to photography?
thank you for your kind comments about my photos. I added both journals (am trying to... lj seems to be balky right now for me... ) I've seen some of your images before, must've been community posts... memoralable patterns...
