I have a photo (from 1971) of a mountain named Ama Dablam, off the Khumbu Valley on the way to Everest. The shape of the massif appears identical to this, but there is lots of snow and ice on it. Can this possibly be the same place, only showing the effect of global warming?
No, Ama Dablan (6850 m) is nearly twice as high as this (relatively small) mountain called Blanc de Moming in Swiss Alps (3 657 m) - so you are grossly flattering to it :))
But i see the point, the North-East wall of Ama Dablan resembles this mountain very much (expect it's covered by a huge hanging glacier).
There is another wonder in Himalayas called Jannu (~7 500m), which also looks quite similar to Blanc de Moming.
is it the same one
