for a start, you need to have something like that:

the rest is easy, as you can guess ^_^

i use this technique - zooming during an exposure - quite often, you may also noticed in many other works.

ps: this was an installation in S.M.A.K, museum of modern art in gent, in belgium. i wrote the author somewhere, but misplaced the note somewhere, sorry.
