Forbes недавно напечатал двухстрочное интервью с Jacque Fresco (это про него, и его Venus Project фильм); забавно, что несмотря на провозглашаемую цель 'to redesign a culture' сайт (и DVD) заполнен в основном моделями домов, городов, ракет, машин, подвоных каких-то лодок - a не моделями новых людей, новых отношений, новых практик. Всё обычная футуристика в духе Звёздных войн и Туманностей Андромеды. И это, типа, человек, который пишет, что "[W]e suffer more from our fictitious illusions and expectations of reality".

Henry Jenkins (он совсем недавно мелькал на страницах этого журнала) написал - сотоварищи - отличный, и огромный, доклад - Confronting The Challenges of Participatory Culture: Media Education for the 21st Century (PDF, 72pp). Это не совсем новая работа, и во многом это повтор его же книги Convergence Culture, но книгу покупать надо, а доклад весь в сети.

Ни для кого из пристутствущих тут никаких особых открытий не будет, но, как в и любой хорошей икебане, вопрос не в отдельных цветах, а в хорошо подобранной ленточке. К примеру, вот навыки, которые мы должны холить и лелеять в себе (и в подращиваемом поколении, у кого уже есть):

Play — the capacity to experiment with one’s surroundings as a form of problem-solving

Performance — the ability to adopt alternative identities for the purpose of improvisation and discovery

Simulation — the ability to interpret and construct dynamic models of real-world processes

Appropriation — the ability to meaningfully sample and remix media content

Multitasking — the ability to scan one’s environment and shift focus as needed to salient details

Distributed Cognition — the ability to interact meaningfully with tools that expand mental capacities

Collective Intelligence — the ability to pool knowledge and compare notes with others toward a common goal

Judgment — the ability to evaluate the reliability and credibility of different information sources

Transmedia Navigation — the ability to follow the flow of stories and information across multiple modalities

Networking — the ability to search for, synthesize, and disseminate information

Negotiation — the ability to travel across diverse communities, discerning and respecting multiple perspectives, and grasping and following alternative norms


То есть, если вы всё это как бы уже делаете, то знайте, что вы молодец, и дизайнер Нового Человека в себе. А если ещё нет, то похерьте побыстрее то, что вам мешает предаваться вышеперечисленному, и предавайтесь.

И много чего есть ещё в том отчёте (кроме, к сожалению, картинок, кроме той, что на обложке. И это от людей, говорящих нам про Transmedia Navigation!)

Philips Design предлагает вниманию публики очередной провокационый концепт - электронная татуировка:

"The e:Tattoo project investigates the use of 'electronic' ink that would allow people to have dynamic tattoos with an infinite number of display options. In much the same way as make-up is put on and taken off to suit the occasion, a tattoo could alter whenever desired.

"Tattoos and physical mutilation are amongst the oldest forms of personal expression and identity. Subcultures have used tattoos as a form of self representation; a visual language communicating personality and status.

"Philips Design examines the growing trend of extreme body adornment like tattoos, piercing, implants and scarring. The e:tattoos could change in response to gestures or emotions, which opens up novel ways of communicating and interacting with others."
