An elderly Afghan walks with his donkey past trees bursting with autumn colours, in the mountain village of Paghman, northwest of the capital Kabul. The village sits at an altitude of 8,000 feet on the eastern slope of the Paghman plain. Temperatures reach below freezing across Afghanistan in the month of November.
